This page was announced by the Southern Region Operations Center recently.

Today an experimental web-based application called "User-Defined Area
Forecast" was released for experimental service by the National Weather
Service (NWS). This application allows users (*that's you!!*) to select
their own area of interest from the NWS point-and-click data base, and
extract a forecast for that area. It also creates a table of max/min values
for the defined area. We also hope to add "population affected" to the
summary table in an upcoming release.
