Subject: [Cometupdates] New from COMET: Remote Sensing Using Satellites,
2nd Ed.
To: announce at comet.ucar.edu
The COMET Program is pleased to announce the publication of the module,
"Remote Sensing Using Satellites, 2nd Edition". This updated module
includes hurricane imagery for recent events as well as other phenomena
visible from satellites. The focus in this material is on the visible and
infrared channels commonly seen on television broadcasts. In the second
chapter, we focus even more on hurricanes, specifically Jimena (2009), Ike
(2008), and Irene (2011).
The intended audience is high school through undergraduate students who are
unfamiliar with remote sensing. With its broad scope, the module should
also appeal to members of the general public with an interest in satellite
remote sensing. Please follow this link to the MetEd description page that
provides additional information and a link to begin the module: Remote
Sensing Using Satellites, 2nd
Edition<https://www.meted.ucar.edu/training_module.php?id=940%22%3Ehttps://www.meted.ucar.edu/training_module.php?id=940>(
