[Skywarn] Anyone ever been Net Control Station for SKYWARN?

I have several times. First off you need to declare what type of checkins
you desire for your particular Skywarn type net. By that I mean, certain
key stations or open to any checkins or whatever your local protocols
require.

Also, what type of content do you want passed on the net. Typically, only
data that is specifically requested by the National Weather Service is
usually passed, but depending on your jurisdiction and who the information
your are collecting for will dictate content passed on the nets. Depending
whether it is the local emergency services or your weather office can make
the difference in content.

Another topic is net discipline. Some nets are very strict and some are
more lax. Some nets will go into a "color mode" where RED status is during
an actual warning, and VERY STRICT net discipline is required, Yellow status
is under the watches, and GREEN status is all other times where no risk or
danger is present.
Others can be more lax than that. Either way, during an actual warning,
where conditions actually exist of a real emergency, I recommend strict
discipline in that situation.

Net scripts can be found via google.
