 The following EMS Management and Emergency Management classes are being offered in the Spring 2013 semester. Registration is now open and classes begin January 14th. EMSM 310 – Financial Management of EMS - Introduction to financing strategies and sources for EMS services. Includes review of common financial management controls, reporting, and planning for EMS. Exploration of funding opportunities for EMS and other healthcare organization to include identification of a granting source, the development of a proposal, and research/completion of the grant application. EMSM 405 – Public Health Emergencies - Explores the emerging role of public health in emergencies and the relationship between public safety and public health. Bioterrorism and pandemic prevention, threats, preparedness and consequence management will be discussed and best practices for response developed. EMGT 410 – Hazard Mitigation - Mitigation concepts, implementation approaches, and planning; exploration of hazards, risk analysis and vulnerability analysis .
