: Thank you for sharing your local problem with the entire world -- we all
: wait breathlessly to seen the next installment of the Trials and
: Tribulations of Weather Spotting in Rural Nevada

The problem isn't Rural Nevada you moron, it's NOAA and their skywarn
"program". It's been the same in two states over three decades that I've
personally known of, and the e-mail reflectors I am on have nationwide
members, so, not a problem, maybe NOAA will get their shit together now,
after all, lives and property depend on it daily! No doubt your experiences
in all instances have been better, glad you've been posting it all over the
web for years now, or at least this one smart-assed answer on a dead list or
we never would have known!

I spoke with a fellow last night about it, he, too has been trying to get
into the system for around four years. He is within sight of an auxiliary
airport. He called NOAA to inform them of extremely strong winds and dust
obscuring the landing strip as well as covering the valley to the West, the
direction of approach due to military operations East of that location. The
response? "We don't accept reports from just anybody". His reply? "How
many people will die today because of your response?" NOAA hung up.
