SAGE ANNOUNCES ANOTHER DELAY
Sage Alerting notified the FCC and users this week that they will not have their update ready on time to meet compliance as of December 12th. Stations should not be worried at this time<https://www.thebdr.net/latest-eas-news/>, the Rules do allow for non-compliant operation for 60 days, so long as entry is made in the Station Log.

NRSC, ANYONE?
As we approach the end of the year, it is time to remind everyone that an NRSC measurement must be done by each AM station every year. If you have not gotten yours done as yet, this is the time! Here are some folks that can do it for you.

The path may be as short as a couple of feet or 40 or 50 miles. The STL - Studio to Transmitter Link - may take many forms. Special guest Chris Crump from Comrex will be with us for our discussion, including a survey of the dozen and a half options, and how to choose the best one. We invite you to share your tips and tricks on how to make this link work. What have you learned to avoid, and what have you found to be best.

JACK SELLMEYER PASSES AWAY
Few engineers in the industry have accomplished as much as Jack Sellmeyer did. Not only did he design allocations and build stations, but he also did design work on exciters, transmitters, audio consoles, and more. SENATOR WANTS TO BASE EV CREDIT ON AM RADIO
A lot of people got $7,500 tax credits for buying electric vehicles. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) has indicated his desire to stop the tax credits unless the vehicles have AM radios in them. RADIO LISTENING GROWS, AT LEAST ON THE ROAD
Regardless of tax credits, recent surveys indicate listening to AM and FM radio has increased and has hit an eight-year high as more workers return to their offices and endure the local traffic. The Edison Research reported American worked an average of 4.9 days a week in the office. At least it does seem like good news for radio.

ATSC-3 CONVERTER NOW OUT
Pearl TV has noted that a new <https://www.thebdr.net/manufacturers-news/> NextGen TV converter<https://www.thebdr.net/manufacturers-news/> is now available for about $90. The set-top box is from ADTH.

THE ALERT THAT WAS NOT
Many residents in Iowa were told to boll water and breast feed. It was not real<https://www.thebdr.net/latest-eas-news/> as station KGLI noted on their facebook page.

THE ALERT THEY WISH WAS NOT
In California, the "Shake Alert" test scheduled for 10:19 AM on October 19th went awry. A whole bunch of cell phones went off - but not at 10:19 AM.<https://www.thebdr.net/latest-eas-news/>
