Following the change of dates of the expedition to Heard, most wanted DXCC countries # 4 and # 5 will be on the air at the same time! To minimize problems, we suggested to the VK0EK team to adopt a common band plan to share the segments on the different bands, taking into account the specifics of each region. Each of us will benefit in terms of clarity and efficiency.
It is available on our website: http://www.juandenovadx.com/en/band-plan/
NOTE: RTTY operation will only be on 30, 20 and 15 meters.
All comments are welcome now through our pilot stations. Chief Pilot Cedric, F5UKW; EU/AF- Bjorn, ON9CFG; NA/SA – Floyd, N5FG and AS/OC – Joe, JJ3PRT. Contact Pilot Stations via email on the web site: http://www.juandenovadx.com/en/pilots/
VK0EK – Heard Island, March 20 to April 10
On Thursday, March 10th the Braveheart and the VK0EK team will leave Cape Town, South Africa enroute to Heard Island. With no trouble, they should arrive on Sunday, March 20th where they will stay until April 11th. Again, with no difficulties they will arrive at Fremantle in Australia on Friday, April 22nd.
The team expects worldwide demand for as many as 150,000 contacts, with as many as 50,000 different stations. In order to satisfy this demand, they will operate 4 – 6 stations at Atlas Cove and 2 stations at Spit Bay for a period of nearly three weeks, with a team of up to 14 radio operators.
