LOG SUBMISSION FOR CQ CONTESTS:
Bob Cox, K3EST, the CQWW Contest Manager, has announced the log filing
deadline for all CQWW DX Contests will now be just five days. He says, "Your
log should be sent to the appropriate robot within five (5) days after the
end of the contest." Bob says he looked at last year's logs and 70% came in
within seven days. Where circumstances do not allow 5-day filing, Bob says
you can request an extension before the 5-day deadline by emailing him at
questions at cqww.com. The first contest affected by this change is the CQWW
RTTY Contest in September. Theoretically, if you know you will not have
internet access after the contest, you could email for an extension before
you leave on your expedition, before the contest.
To further clarify the change, Rich Moseson, W2VU said:
"The five-day log submission deadline takes effect with the SSB weekend of
the 2012 CQWW DX Contest in October.
The deadline for the 2012 CQWW RTTY DX Contest (Sept. 29-30) remains 15
October, as published in the July issue of CQ."
CQ is making other changes in their schedule beginning in 2013 which should
result in making contest results appear up to four months earlier.
CANADA TO CHANGE ONTARIO SECTION:
The RAC has announced they will be splitting the Ontario Section into FOUR
separate sections as of September 1, 2012. The new sections will be labeled
Ontario North (ONN); Ontario East (ONE); Ontario South (ONS) and Greater
Toronto Area (GTA).
The ARRL has recognized the change and they will be effective for the
NOVEMBER SWEEPSTAKES. Be sure to check/update your logging software to be
sure whatever you are using recognizes these new multipliers.
See ya' in the Pileups!
