That's what I'm saying, the ICOM has a lot of bang for the buck, but 
there are at least a half dozen other radios costing less that are equal 
in modes & power output

Besides, for $ 4,000. I could upgrade my pickup to a much newer model 
with air bags & plastic cell bumpers.. ;-)

Hey, I'm retired & my IRA isn't that rich & has lost that much in past 3 
years..
