IF it does what they state, I think they will be in short supply for
some time after they become available even at the projected prices.
It is essentially a set of complete HF, VHF, and UHF stations with dual
receivers that are integrated all in one box along with all the
functions of the top end, duoband FM mobiles. . Most likely the
performance will be right up there with the other top end rigs as well.
OTOH only time will tell if it's going to be a winner of on sale early.
Except for the compactness of them, I doubt the Yaesu 897D or the Icom
7000 will offer much competition even at a quarter of the price.
Although I do not like either of the small rigs they are both very good
at doing what they were designed to do (I have both). OTOH I'd rate the
7000 which I dislike the most, as twice the rig that the 897D is..
