Dave I'm in total agreement with you on this. But it extends to any equipment related to six meters. Anytime someone has dedicated six meter gear the asking price is about what you could buy an HF rig for that covers 10m-160m, sometimes a lot more! Guess that's what we get for being dedicated six meter enthusiasts.
