I have the DL5K as well and it's new, but I don't think I'd trust it on 
50 MHz. Look at the length of the resistors in there. Yes,  it'll work, 
but it's also reactive.
At 50 MHz it shows R=56, X=72, and an SWR of 2.7:1

So, yes you could use it on six, but I use mine on HF to tune the amp.  
IOW I adjust the tuner for R=52, X = 0 to the antenna, then tune the amp 
into the dummy load. When I switch to the antenna I do not have to touch 
the amp tune or load. I'd not be able to do that on 6-meters ...if I had 
an amp for six.
As for time limit, I can tune up the Emtron to tilt and not have the 
fans come on. However I do show about 20 watts reflected on three 
different watt meters. "To me" it looks like one, or both of the 
resistors has changed value slightly.  Those are some mighty big Glowbar 
resistors, or at least they look like them.
