I've heard that said also... But in theory if everything else is ok that
shouldn't be a problem. Unless, and this is a big unless, you happen to be
a reverse of another repeater and the band opens up. I have heard that
happen on 10m repeaters before but its not very common for all the
conditions to be just right.
Either way, the user doesn't have to use PL on receive if they don't want to
so in the end its up to the users if they want to make use of it. You
wouldn't believe how many people think if you put a PL on the repeater
transmit that others won't be able to listen unless they program in the PL
Decode, uhh yeah just go CSQ... LOL
