Hi doc:

Thanks for the reply.

OK - I am signed up for reflectors galore so let me see if I can change the world!
I'll post tropo openings this Spring and Summer and see if I can attract some interest.

I have an interesting perspective. I am a long-time TV FM DXer and have been in broadcast engineering since 1968.
Tropo has always been a huge thing for me. I live just north of NYC and sometimes reach all the way down the
Atlantic seaboard to NC, SC and beyond even with DTV. I also have a place in Michigan and the summers provide the most amazing tropo you ever want to experience. 2m repeaters don't often use PLs out there - and when you key up the local repeater you'll also key up 12 more repeaters on the same pair within 500 miles of where you are. It's amazing!

I also often use NOAA wetaheradio stations as propagation beacons. Very useful!

I'll get on the Internet lists and advertise that I am 'screaming for squares.'
(It's a new game show that I host on 6 meters.)

I like reviving discarded fourth-owner disgruntled unloved equipment to do amazing things.
An 80 milliwatt QSO on CW is my idea of a party. (I don't get out much.)
My well-loved Yaesu FT-690RII should give you an idea.
I'm using it with it's optional 10 watt linear.
I began my career on 6m using a large Japanese HT that offered CW.
With just a whip antenna, I was working stations like crazy. Magic band, indeed!

Thanks again for the suggestion - a very good one!
