Anything at this point is still pure speculation. All equipment fails, 
engines fail including Continentals (been there, been behind one that 
did on climb out no less and I only had one) passengers move stuff, 
critters come out of nowhere on take off and landing day or night. that 
he impacted over 500 feet to the side and about 2/3 down the runway is 
significant, particularly when the runway is only 3700 feet long.  Is 
that indicative of a problem or low level turn?  I've had a control yoke 
catch on the right seater's legs although that piper should have more 
clearance unless the right seat passenger was ... a bit portly.

There are just too many possibilities to do anything except to speculate 
which is usually fruitless.
