I'll reply to the list in order to provide some enlightenment and answer
q's.
1. My Blackberry is a model 8110. I apologize for the fat-fingered typing.
The "SPS" was supposed to read "GPS".
a) Go to Settings, Options, Advanced Options, GPS
b) Turn ON GPS Services. This enables the built-in GPS.
* The GPS will give you a Lat/Long position by choosing "Refresh GPS". This
does NOT require a subscription service to manually obtain position info
from your built-in GPS.
** I'm with AT&T if that makes a difference, but it shouldn't.
2. Using you phone/Blackberry, go to the link I sent earlier (as KD4E
explained in his post). This will download and install a new "application"
called "Maidenhead".
3. Go to your "Application" icon and select the new application.
That should do it.
I have to step outside the house in order for the GPS to "see" some
satellites.
I was mistaken in my first post. The application gives you your grid out to
10 digits. When I went down the street to the grocery store, it said my
location was DM78ow43jm.

Roger,
I am not sure where to find the "SPS locator" on my
Blackberry.
Is it likely to be in the browser setup or somewhere
else, please?
