yes, it was one of those "if you don't do this then i will do that" type
letter and membership was mentioned. also follow this thread and read

some of ocl's statements are blatant lies and/or half-truths, but , he does
have the ear of the arrl.
in other threads he wants to revamp the license classes and form a new
class.... don't think the FCC will buy into that, they want to reduce the
numbers
of classes. don't hesitate.... e-mail the FCC, just send cc to arrl because
they don't seem to want to listen to facts
