As an owner of the 5154DX100 model (Which shares the same footprint as
the original model, it is woo large for mobile applications (Which is
how I use mine.).
The person who helped me shoe horn my Ranger in place is still surprised
it hasn't pulled loose from under the dash of my pickup (As there is
very little sheet metal support in modern pickups.).
Other than that, I find it adequate.
If I were considering another radio for 6meter mobile use, I would
likely try a Yaesu FT-857D or a Alinco DX-70TH (Both in $ 700. price
range.).
