I agree six meters here in North Carolina was in good shape for most of the
weekend.
I would say it was open about 80% of the weekend!

Well, here in Norman, OK, we had 109 QSOs, most on 50.170 USB. We got almost
all the eastern seaboard, except for ENY, SNJ, Rhode Island, and Florida.
Got a lot of folks in IN, IL, OH, and PA, as well as NM, UT, AZ, CO, WY, and
MT. For a while we had pileups of 4 or 5 folks every time we called CQ.
I was especially pleased to have 6 kids, ages 5 to 13, willing to work the
station, and _they_ were thrilled to make about 75% of the QSOs. It worked
well for all of us, and they're now solidly hooked.
Antenna was a dipole at 36 feet, oriented ENE/WSW, rig was a Yaesu FT-897D
at 100 Watts.
I've never _ever_ seen 6 meters better.
