Sure, takeoff angle is going to be an issue - and with 6, it can be a matter
of catching some of the closer stations as well as the farther ones. Let's
just say - options are good! One reason why I have the PAR SM-50
direcctional at one height, and the PAR OA-50 omnidirectional a bit lower.
There are times I can definitely reach better on one than the other.

Subject: [SixClub] take off angles and grid squares
Thanks to all who gave me some new ideas for antennas and installations here
in the high mountains.
I was wondering about two more things:
1. will signal "take off angle" be an issue for 6M or say 20M
transmissions from this QTH or is it still the old "higher the better" rule
that I have heard about seemingly forever?
2 Also, is there a list so to speak of the rare or hard to get conus
grid squares? For example this QTH is in DM76in...
Thanks again and 73,
John Carson kd5srw
