Just my opinion on buying a 9406.

If I had to spend 250.00 on a new one I would save an extra 100.00 and
by the Ranger 5054.
If I could nab the 9406 on Ebay for 150.00 or less shipped I might go
that route.
Other rigs of interest show up on Ebay but for the most part seem to go
for around100.00 more than you could buy them at a ham swap for.....
I find it amazing that anyone would bid up to 80% or 90% of what a 9406
goes for new on Ebay. That just seems dumb to me....
9406 10w analog dial no squelch and no cw without add on money.
5054 100w digital read out ALL MODE. No pl's without add on money.
(feelings not hurt on the pl's)
Last thought.... If I could run into a good working old yaesu or icom
all mode rig for around the 150 mark i'd go that route. It does happen
now and then if your really patient and dig around alot...

It's 9:10 pst. I'm going out to fire up the SyntorX on 52.525 fm
