Doc and Richard,
IS700 is the basic intro course. On the EMI web site, you will see
references to other courses. Take what seems reasonable for your interest
and role. They are all online and once you take and pass the test, the
certificate email comes in a very short time, about 10 minutes, and not the
next business day as indicated. I took IS700 over the weekend and my
certificate email came in a couple of minutes.
So treat yourself to a Christmas present, take the course and get the
certificate!

Merry Christmas!

I had understood that NIMS was the standard:
<http://training.fema.gov/EMIWeb/IS/is700.asp>

General Information:
<http://www.fema.gov/emergency/nims/index.shtm>

State & Local Responders:
<http://www.training.fema.gov/EMIWeb/IS/crslist.asp>

Can someone clarify, please?
