Morse was eliminated as a requirement to use HF in
Canada over a year ago. The only proviso is that you
must get 80+ percent on the 'Basic' exam, which is
roughly equivalent to the Tech plus the General.
Anyway I have not noticed ANY difference on the HF
bands, and the local stores haven't found any increase
in HF rig sales. 

My main fear is that too many VHFers will now abandon
our favorite bands! We need more people up to the
challenge (and payoff) of VHF.
