Exactly...
At a recent meeting of BVARC www.bvarc.com several members who are
Extra's in discussing CW, confessed they would be doing good to do 5
wpm today, to spite the fact they had to do considerably higher
speeds to get their license.. One remarked that his wife who was NOT
a ham, could read CW faster than he..
It is all in learning to respect others & exhibit the way we want to
be remembered, mentoring (Elmering) new hams go a long way to advance
the hobby which to some have turned to a life long profession (One
who has been a ham for over 50 years, recently retired from being an
engineer at a local network affiliate & in retirement trying to
re-learn CW and get his speed up..
Setting an example can advance ham radio more than harping about the
loss of CW as a requirement.
Personally, CW & I do not agree with each other due to a medical
disability, yet I believe that CW should be retained as a requirement
for Extra..!
Now to get out the "General" instruction book & start practicing the
"General" theory & questions..
Anyone have a copy of one of the old ARRL General video courses they
would be willing to part with for a few dollars (Need not be the most
recent edition.)..?

Tech Class since March 2004, maybe I can pass General by March 2007..?
