Hi Murray&Group- nothing Heard from my Shack(fn32ci)ny! for over a week!..i

neck o' the wood's. also,, I never Hear any of the 'so called' EME qso's..I
Know my cushcraft log periodic50-450 mhz..not used with azimithal rotor's
ability,,but I do somtimes 'try' aiming at Moon during certain Low horizon
oppurtunie's..I Never Hear anything..of course,,i'm 'assumming it's my 'poor
selectivity es reciever response on my rci-5054 rig ;) i know my 150 amp
'not 'nuff juice' for my station set up! anyway..nothing exciting to relay
on my 6 mtr contacts!..i Have No 2 mtr ssb,,so just 6 mtr experiences.
Enough my '2 cents'..vy gl dx es 73's-ke2eb george.
ps- heard that meteorite shower's may be visable tonite es next total 3
nights:)..I Hope to 'experience' seeing some of them;),,at least I do Know

>Ok, once more I missed a band opening. I started yesterday at 9:30am EST,
>all day I called CQ. I eat dinner just before the storm and I get back to
>my PC and what do I see, Information pointing me to believe there is an
>opening. So I watched telnet for a few hours as contacts were being made, I
>could do nothing put look out to the lake and watch the lighting. I did not
>dare take my portable set up out in that. However; since I got my first
>ever QSL cards in the mail from the printer, I did finish all that have
>built up for the past 2 months. So if you are waiting for a QSL from me
>(KB3LZV) its on its way.
>
>So the real question behind the e-mail. I have been on vacation since the
>8/1 in there was one band opening that I know of last week. However in my
>quest to find one I watch the many website that people have helped me find
>and they have been very useful. But what I can understand is why 6 meters
>in Europe is all ways hopping with 2000km+ contacts. And I can get one in
>a blue moon.
>

>Also I was wondering, is there a place in book or Internet land that will
>explain the complicated workings of 6 meter. Like how the weather on earth
>and in space effects the band, how you know if you have a hop or 2 hop. I
>know this my sound like dumb question that I should already know but for
>some reason, I am very confused about this. I don't know I guess I just
>feel there should be some way to have an understanding of the band so that
>if I wake up and the stars are in line I know I should call out sick to
>work. No just kidding. Well I think you know what I am saying.
>
>Well thanks in advance for the good information as it all ways is.
