[SixClub] more antenna questions

I had mentioned to Ben off list about logs. While they don't have
the gain of Yagi's they are awfully handy. I was able to put one up
on a 30ft mast when I first moved into my new house and the neighbors
didn't bat an eye as it looks very much like a TV antenna. The fact
that it covered 50/144/222/423 also let me get on the air for the vhf
contests right away. Now that I have beams for all my bands I leave
my log pointed SW (I'm in New England) for monitoring band openings.

If you have limited space, money and want to stay under the radar
with your neighbors I think a log is tough to beat.
