Exactly!! I first got on 6 meters in 1992 using a
Kenwood TS600 and an indoor dipole. I was living in
an apartment while in grad school, and I got VUCC with
that setup. If I had been led to believe that I had
to have a yagi up so high, I would have had to say
forget about it, as there is no way in my current
setup. Yes I was limited to the Eskip openings, which
in the midwest at least occur on 60-90 days a year,
mainly during the summer, but also for a few days in
the winter. The rest of the time I played on HF and
looked forward to the next Eskip season or VHF
contest. I still don't have a huge setup 6 wise, but
do the best with what I can.

A vertical is not as good as 6 elements up at 80 feet,
but it is better than being QRT on 6 because you can't
put a tower or yagi up.

If I lived in a CCR area (thank God I don't, nor
never will), it would be great to stick a few wires up
in the attic and transmit at high power as a way to
tell the HOA to stick it up their convenent.
