7/16 balsa is lighter.  We had consider pvc but it is a a lot heaver
over the entire run. The entire theory is here is to make the wires 1.5"
apart and maintain this across the entire spread of wires. If the wires
are left to float then the patterns gets all skewed and the takeoff
angles get trashed and the swrs will be all over the map while
transmitting if the wind is blowing.
