That PAR 6m looks just the thing! My homebrew is likely to fall apart at
some time I would suspect. 9 1/2 foot? So thats 57" each side?

I use a 1/2 wave dipole for six meter SSB from PAR. It's 9 1/2 feet long,
insulated and end fed. Rated for 200W. Mine has been at 35+feet for about
8 months now and I've had fantastic results compared simultaneously with my
3 element yagi. It's a lot more omnidirectional than the beam and is also
extremely efficient. The distances of ground wave contacts have been up to
par with the yagi as well. Par makes them for 6-20 meters one for each
band. I think they would make a great last resort antenna solution for any
band especially when horizontal
