David,
Despite the well considered negative responses about
what you heard on 6m last night, there was more going
on than computer problems under your roof. I was on 6m
AM with 4 others and the noise on the band led several
to believe there was a band opening going on or about
to happen. I switched over to ssb and heard wide
heterodynes just above 50.125 and directly on 50.150.
The "signal" on 50.150 had a beacon like rhythm or
more accurately, CW when you are listening in the
wrong mode. I can understand why your would think it
was an opening.
