Throw away the tuner.....waste of money and time on 6mtrs...remember, 
you are into VHF......the rules are different here....coax losses start 
to climb and using a tuner only matches the radio to the coax end of the 
antenna Z.....but this causes the actual coax SWR to go up...and losses 
too! NEVER use a tuner above 30 MHz....match the antenna to the feedline 
at the antenna on VHF...Your line losses will be their lowest (which is 
what you want) and power xfer from feedline to antenna will be maximized 
(again what you want).

Good luck and now go build that 1/4wave ground plane....and we'll look 
for ya on the band :)
