  I signed up for this site a couple of years ago and it works rather well. 
You get to select which type of emergencies or weather problems in your area 
and where you want them sent.It could be a cell phone, pager or email.It even 
has homeland security alerts. Check it out. I didn't want to send it to the 
reflector as it is off topic. If you feel it is OK please feel free to do so.
