Right. Typical. That's why Field Day is "not a contest." hi. Well, one
of many reasons.
In fact, ARRL doesn't check logs, it's all very casual, etc. and if the
station you worked was your basic at-home station, you would probably have
been find just saying, "Okay, fine," and logging it as a 1D -- home station
on commercial power.
