thats great talk but look at the postings from these gentlemen on this 
list a good number of them are running either dipoles or loops or 
nonresnant dipoles to a tuner and still using a crappy rig
granted i would rather have a good antenna and actually do but if you 
have a reciever that is of poor quailty or has a high noise floor then 
your not going to be hearing those weak signals whether your running a 3 
ele yagi on a 6 foot boom or a 11 ele on a 54 foot boom
