Chris,

I also got my Novice at 13 using Wayne Green's Tapes.After a month of
practicing one group of letters at a time,my Dad (WA1PFS)told me to just
play the tape all the way through and see how much I retain.To my delight
and surprise, I was able to learn it in 1 day.The commonality here is that I
also had a  good ear for music and was involved in a choral group at the
time.As we get older, learnning either gets easier or tougher because we
have less time and alot of times less patience.

Just my thoughts.........

I have to admit, at age 13 I got 5wpm once I just memorized the 
letters!! Took two weekends to do it...luckily I also played piano so 
the music and timing background help...BUT....
