I've been getting mixed signals....
http://radioscanning.wox.org/scanner/calling_freqs.htm
http://www.ac6v.com/callfreq.htm
http://www.dxer.com/bandplan.html
http://www.arrl.org/FandES/field/regulations/bandplan.html#6m
Most of this conflicting information relates to FM simplex, but why? Are "Calling Frequencies" neccessary or even practical to use for anything beyond local communications? I've used .125 as a "SSB beacon" to tell me when the band may be open, but even then, the DX spots or beacons could be a much better idea. Those CW operators must be hoping for a similar SSB listener.
It would be fun to try a QSO using both modes; maybe it would spark some new interest in CW (especially on a no code band).
Happy Holidays from the Poconos!
