When you look into the radio from the top you should be able to find two heavy leads and the remnants of the surgistor over bvy your AC ON/OFF switch. I have seen recommendations for Globars as replacements but don't know if those are really still available. MOV's and other modern tech surge devices are not the same and will not do what the surgistors did. Sorry I can't help more than this right now. Good luck.
