Hi Jim,

It's located up on the On-Off Push Button switch. If it's one of the Green
ones it's probably an original. I had the same issue when I got my CX7A some
15 years ago. The actual problem turned out to be the power transformer,
which I purchased from Peter Dahl directly. It's been fine since, and was a
common problem with early CX7A's (mine is # 142) they started with 100 so,
mine was the 42nd unit made. I've made a number of mods. over the years to
mine and I'm still thinking of a few more to do.
By the way, I used a STM CL-11 they can be purchased from newarkinone.com
SKU: 16F5006. the part is rated at 12A continuous maximum @ .7 Ohm

Good Luck,

John

Subject: [SignalOne] Signal/One CX7 Surgistor Location

This list is for discussions regarding collecting, repair, use and sale of
Signal/One radios and accessories.

Documentation on Signal/One radios can be found at http://www.hamanuals.com
and several other sites on the Web.

Hi

My Signal/one failed to power up. When I removed the cabinet to trouble
shoot
the problem, a piece of the surgistor fell out. So I now know what the
problem is.
My question is "where is it located?". Also, what can I use for a
replacement?

Thank you
