I am sinning with this signal one.  I always wanted a s1 and I always wanted to build a transceiver.  The newer radios are better than can be home built.  So I bought a junker off of e-bay.  Got it working and now am  in the process of modifying it to solid state.  I have it working in receive.  The display is now led and direct readout.  3.917mhz reads 3.917 on the display.  The internal keyer is now iambic.  The audio out is dual amplifier and am planning a pseudo cw deal like the Ten-Tec Orian has.  I can't think of the name of it now.
