...High wind watch in effect from early Tuesday morning through
Tuesday evening...
The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a high wind
watch...which is in effect from early Tuesday morning through Tuesday
evening.
* Timing: winds will begin to increase early Tuesday morning and
peak in the early afternoon Tuesday. The strong winds will
dissipate late Tuesday evening.
* Winds: peak wind gusts from 55 to 65 mph expected in lower
elevation locations with ridge gusts approaching or exceeding 100 mph.
* Impacts: areas of blowing dust are possible and could cause
reduced visibilities. Damage to trees...power lines and property
is possible with winds of this magnitude. Take steps to secure
loose items outdoors.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Driving will be dangerous for high profile vehicles...especially
along Highway 395 south of Reno. Use extra caution and remain

A high wind watch means there is potential for strong damaging
winds to affect the area. Continue to monitor the latest
