KID's DAY JUNE 18th 2005
Kid's Day is intended to encourage young people (licensed or not) to enjoy
Amateur Radio. It can give young people hands-on on-the-air experience so
they might develop an interest in pursuing a career in the technology
trades or to access the world of Amateur Radio via their own license, in
the future. It is intended to give hams a chance to share their station
with children and expose them to the effects this hobby has made in their
daily lives. This is a day of sharing experiences and an oppurtunity for
children to communicate with other children throughout the world via
Amateur Radio. Amateur radio is not only a fun hobby but provides an
important communication resource in the event of an emergency. The Nevada
Chapter of the American Red Cross will also be present at the Spanish
Springs Library, (...and on the radio) to discuss thier roles and
collaborations with Amateur Radio Emergency Services. We encourage all to
drop by and have fun as you learn more about this great hobby and community
service!

Date: June 18 2005.

Time: 10:00AM to 3:00PM-PST.

Kids of all ages are encouraged to attend! Suggested exchange: Name, age,
location and favorite color. You are encouraged to work the same station
again if an operator has changed. We will be calling "CQ Kid's Day." (CQ
means that we are willing to talk to any station). Who knows you might make
contacts to kids accross town or kids from across the world!! Come join us
and experiment with the fun hobby called Ham Radio while learning more
about the science that makes it all happen!!
