[SFDXA] Need Win 7 program for FMC

Yes the system needs multiple updates (Java, Flash, AVG databases, FireFox
updates, etc. etc.) and yes those updates really hamper things while they
are running. I stopped those updates from running while we were on the
system, and those updates still need to be run.
The problem with XP is that Microsoft does not support Defender or Security
Essentials on it any more. The latest version of Internet Explorer you can
use with XP is IE 8! XP is using the NT kernal from 2001! That 16 years
ago... a lifetime in the computer industry.
AVG is a decent product but it is slow and it is extremely restrictive. I
have tried it on several systems and I had to remove it to get acceptable
performance. Microsoft security Essentials is much faster and less trouble.
We don't need something THAT restrictive since nobody has any bank
information or personal information on that system. The only critical
information is the log database, which I hope is getting backed up
regularly.
AVG was blocking all of the scripts needed to run Reverse Beacon Network. I
removed AVG, so at least the system would function.
My recommendation is to upgrade the OS to Windows 7 so that we can receive
security updates from Microsoft and so that we can run Microsoft Security
Essentials as well, instead of a third party alternative.
I will be glad to do a full data backup, update the OS, update the drivers
and reload all of the applications that we use. I promise it will provide
for a more stable system.
I Loved XP, but I moved on 2.5 years ago when Microsoft stopped supporting
it. Windows 7 is much more stable.
I have two Windows 7 computers, a Windows 8.1, and a Windows 10 system here
at home to experiment with, and 19 years of IT experience. Let's move
ahead.

PS: The next time I'm at the station, I'll take a look and see what battery
we need...

Windows OS is not necessarily the problem. What is the problem is that the
computer is not run often enough, and when it is turned on you will see a
massive influx of OS updates (yes even some W95), and AntiVirus updates ans
runs. After its been on and all these are done, it should be reasonably
fast.
Once we get the CMAOS clock battery changed, that is! Let's get that fixed
first.
Loading Win7 on and old machine might not be the answer, nor is a faster
internet connection. Win7 + Antivirus will still bog the computer down with
updates and virus scans unless the computer is turned on much more often.
Then
there is the CMOS clock!
Exactly what are the incompatibilities that you've discovered?
