Hi Keith,
One set of answers is coming up in August QST, "A tale of two air conditioners".
In summary:
(1) tightly twist the pair of wires that carry the control signals of the pulse
width modulated motor (PWM) controls.
(2) tightly twist the two power wires to the PWM motor supply.
(3) ferrite chokes on the inputs and outputs of the above.
(4) use your handheld set to receive at HF as a "sniffer" and add ferrite chokes
as needed.

Kai, KE4PT
