[SFDXA] Where the real skyscrapers are hint North Dakota (S Floeida too!)

Back in 1988 When the S.C. tower was built, there was a strange occurrence.
The combiner for the antennas arrived with a port for 147.300 MHz. (if
memory serves me correctly)

All the hams in the area rejoiced, because they thought that that repeater
at 2000 feet would cover such a wide area...

Well... about half the time, no one could hit the repeater at 2000 feet.
Too many thermals below it... so they put an antenna at 300 feet and it now
works very well !

We have some very credible examples on our door step, including the 313 m
(1027
feet) tall channel 6 (WTVJ) tower just below the Broward / Dade county line.
There is a cluster of high towers there,
see: http://transition.fcc.gov/mb/engineering/dtvmaps/ and enter your zip
code.
There is an elevator on that tower, and the view from the tower is breath
taking
(been there)!
