What I found interesting besides the QSL cards are the Dates - 1938, and the countries that the cards are from. This was a hot time in both the European theater and in Asia, yet hams are on the air from many of those effected countries in 1938. Also using the Pause button ( | | ) take time to read some of the cards, note the call structure at that time. Take note of the card from Pitcairn Is. and look for the transmitter line on the card from China. Did you know in 1938 the prefix for China was XU?
