Want to hear on the low bands but are short on real estate? This may be the
solution. It's called the K9AY Array Solutions AS-AYL-4 Receiving Antenna.
This antenna was written up in March 2008 QST and at least one club member
is using one. It is only 36' high with two loops for four directions.
Check it out at the Array Solutions website at
http://www.arraysolutions.com/Products/rxantennas.htm.
This system is brand new, still in the box, and has never been assembled. I
bought this system about two years ago, planning to put it up last year.
Since that time, I have purchased the empty lot next door and I am currently
installing the DX Engineering Four Square antenna since I now have over an
acre of open space. The K9AY System for sale contains two units. The
AS-AYL-4 Low Band Receive Antenna System consists of the controller (which
includes pre-amp, bandpass filter) and the outdoor weather-proof relay box.
Array Solutions sells this for $325, but my brand new one is only $225. The
AS-AYL-4-MW Mast and Antenna Wire Kit consists of four 6' Fiberglass mast
sections, wire loops, stakes, Dacron rope, precut wires (nothing to
measure), and all hardware. Array Solutions sells this for $225, but my
brand new one is only $125. Even better, get both for $300 total, and save
$50. I will sell separately if no one wants the complete system. Pick up
in Stuart or Ft. Lauderdale. I can ship for actual costs.
