Yesterday I tried making a pinhole projector, but the image was too 
small. I will deal with the web coverage. One source I read said the 
entire transit will take over six hours.

Go to 
http://venustransit.gsfc.nasa.gov/assets/img/latest/latest_1024_HMIIC.jpg
and set your location. Then you can see when it will be visible there. 
(It's a very clever display!)

For me it's 6:30 to 8:20 if I were outside.
