[SFDXA] UA4WHX Dinner

Fourteen SFDXA club members and guests attended a dinner in Plantation Florida with renown 
 
DXer Vladimir Bykov, UA4WHX, and his wife Irina. The dinner was organized by Ed, N4II. The event began 
 
                                                                             
with SFDXA’s first Volunteer Examination session,  

                                                                             
organized by Irwin, N4IEW,  in which Irina handily  

                                                                             
earned her Technician Class license.   

                                                                             
              Following the fine dinner Vlad answered  

                                                                             
many questions about his travels and DXing activities.  

                                                                             
Vlad has accumulated more than 3 dozen amateur  

                                                                             
radio licenses from his many DX operations. His stories  

                                                                             
enlightened us on dealing with the various  

                                                                             
telecommunications ministries, sparring with all  

                                                                             
manner of local and national security forces, QSLing,  

                                                                             
and his top choice of radio equipment suited to his  

                                                                             
style of low profile  DX operations.
