[South Florida DX Association] How to get rid of cigarette odorfrom a Radio equimpent?

After you use the cleaners to clean off the smoke film I've heard that putting the rig in a large plastic bag with a few pounds of uncooked rice in a cheesecloth bag & seal it for a few days works. The rice , I'm told will absorb the odor but I've never tried it. This will also dry out a wet cell phone or handitalkie.
