Hello Group , I have been away from the reflector for a few months due to
business and hope that all
members have been doing well. About a year after the IC-7800 was introduced
at Dayton a JA friend
mentioned to me that Icom was working on a replacement for the IC-R9000
series receiver. As we all know
now the IC-R9500 is in production. I spoke with him this morning and he has
heard that Icom is now working
on a replacement for the IC-PW 1 HF/6M Amp. He doesn't know any specs but he
said that he has heard that
this amp will have metering similar to the metering on the IC-7800 HF/6M
transceiver. It should have the
neat LCD digital "needle" style indicators/pointers with "shadows" similar
to the 7800's. The controller
is supposed to be removable like the PW-1'S is but a lot thinner/slimmer.
Again he does not know anything
about its rf output or any specs at all and its just "gossip" that he is
passing on from other JA friends
of his. He does not work for Icom but does reside in Osaka , Japan. With his
advance knowledge of the IC-
R9500 receiver we may just have a new Icom HF amp out soon. I'm glad to see
the new products coming out
from Icom
